Scene 07 : What do you want me to

Ross: So, Rachel? What are you up to tonight?
Rachel: Well... I was kinda supposed to be in Aruba on my honeymoon. So.. nothing!
Ross: Aruba? This time of year.. big lizards! Anyway, if you're free, could you help me?
Rachel: Help you? What do you want me to do for you?
Ross: Joey and Chandler are coming over to help me put together my new furniture.
Rachel: Well, actually I think I'm just gonna hang out here tonight. It's been kinda long day...
Ross: Okay, sure!

Ross: 있잖아 Rachel? 너 오늘 저녁에 뭐 할일 있어?
Rachel: 글쎄... 난 신혼여행으로 아루바에 가기로 되어 있었어서... 아무것도 없어!
Ross: 아루바? 지금 이맘때쯤이면.. 커다란 도마뱀으로 가득할거야! 어쨌든 아무일도 없으면 나 좀 도와줄래?
Rachel: 도와달라고? 내가 뭘 도와주길 바래?
Ross: Joey 랑 Chandler 가 내 새 가구를 조립하는걸 도와주러 오기로 했거든.
Rachel: 음, 사실 오늘밤 그냥 이 근처를 돌아다닐 생각이야. 오늘은 참 길었던 날이었으니까...

(Monica and Paul are talking in the restaurant.)
Paul: Ever since she walked out on me, I uh...
Monica: What, what? what do you wanna say?
Paul: No, It's more of 5th date thing.
Monica: So, there's gonna be a 5th date?
Paul: Isn't there?
Monica: Yeah, yeah. I think there is! What are you gonna say?
Paul: Well... evenr since she left me, I haven't been able to perform sexually.
Monica: Wow! I'm sorry. How long?
Paul: 2 years.
Monica: Wow! I'm so sorry..
Paul: So you still think you might want that 5th date?
Monica: Yeah, I do!

(Monica and Paul are talking in the restaurant.)
Paul: 그녀가 저를 떠난 이후로 저는...
Monica: 뭐요? 뭐라고 하려던 거예요?
Paul: 아니에요. 이건 다섯번째 데이트 이후 정도에 해야되는 얘기인데.
Monica: 그래서 다섯번째 데이트가 있을거라는 거예요?
Paul: 아닌가요?
Monica: 아뇨, 있을거예요! 무슨 말 하려고 했어요?
Paul: 음.. 그녀가 저를 떠난 이후로, 저는 성적인 기능을 할 수가 없었어요.
Monica: 와우! 죄송해요. 얼마 동안에요?
Paul: 2년이요.
Monica: 와우! 죄송해요..
Paul: 그래도 당신은 아직도 5번째 데이트를 원한다고 생각하시나요?
Monica:그럼요, 하고싶어요!

단어 끝이 t 로 끝날 때는 t 발음하지 않고 받침으로 -> 마잍

 


회화패턴

I'm going to (= I'm gonna)

will: 시간이 지나면 어느정도 자연스럽게 이루어지는 상황

I'm going to be a doctor. (나는 무슨 일이 있어도 의사가 될거야) -> 의지가 반영됨

 

I'm going to go to New York (나는 뉴욕에 갈거야)

-> '가다' 라는 의미로 쓰일 때는 go to 생략 가능 (go 가 겹치기 때문에)

= I'm going to New York.

I'm going to the party.

I'm going to the beach.

I'm going to the airport.

 

뉴욕으로 가고 있는 중이다.

I'm going to New York now.

(이때는 be ~ing 의 현재진행형으로 사용한 것)

 

뒤에 오는 말이 to 부정사일 때, wanna / gonna 라는 식으로 want to / going to 를 합친다.

I'm going to learn English. -> I'm gonna learn English.

I'm going to make it. -> I'm gonna make it. (나 해낼거야)

I'm going to marry him. -> I'm gonna marry him.

I'm going to quit smoking. -> I'm gonna quit smoking.

I'm going to quit working -> I'm gonna quit working.
